Why is my Flybuys account showing as inactive?
Your Flybuys account becomes inactive if you have not collected or redeemed points for a period of time. If your account is inactive, you may not be able to log in, redeem rewards, or access Flybuys offers until it is reactivated.
The good news is that reactivation is simple and usually happens automatically.
How do I reactivate my Flybuys account?
You do not need to contact us.
Your account will automatically reactivate when you do one of the following:
- Scan your Flybuys card in store
- Earn Flybuys points online using your Flybuys account
Once you do this, your account should reopen automatically.
Do I need to speak to the Flybuys Service Centre to reactivate my account?
No.
Inactive accounts automatically reactivate when you scan your Flybuys card or earn points. There is no need to contact the Flybuys Service Centre.
How long does reactivation take?
In most cases, reactivation happens automatically after you scan your card or earn points.
If you have just scanned or earned points, please allow a short processing time before trying to log in again.
What happens to my Flybuys points while my account is inactive?
When an account becomes inactive after 13 months with no activity, any points you had were automatically expired.
The automatic reopen restores your account access so you can earn and use points again, but it doesn’t bring back points that had already expired.
Can I redeem rewards straight away after my account reactivates?
Yes. As soon as your account reactivates, you can:
- Log in to your Flybuys account
- Redeem rewards
- Access partner offers and bonus point promotions
Does my Flybuys card still work when my account is inactive?
Yes. Flybuys cards never expire and will continue to scan in store.
Scanning your card is one of the ways your account can automatically reactivate.
What if my account has been inactive for a long time?
If an account remains inactive for an extended period, it may be closed.
Automatic reactivation only applies to inactive accounts that are not yet closed. If your account has already been closed, you will need to rejoin Flybuys to start earning points again
Why don’t I remember being told my account was inactive?
We may send reminder or inactivity emails before an account becomes inactive. These emails depend on your communication preferences and opt in status, so not all members receive them.
To avoid missing updates, we recommend keeping your contact details and communication preferences up to date.
Why has Flybuys made this change?
This update makes it easier for members who are still shopping and scanning their Flybuys card to fully access their account, without needing to contact us.
If you are actively engaging with Flybuys, your account should simply work.
